Rum Baba Or Baba Au Rum

Rum Baba Rum Baba – Let’s Dig Into This French Delight !!! In the month of January, while vacationing in Goa, had this amazing dessert called "Rum Baba" at a French restaurant. You may think it's same as Rum Balls. No there is no similarities in both desserts apart from one ingredient that is rum. Rum Baba or Baba Au Rum (French name) is a yeast cake soaked in syrup made with hard liquor, usually rum. It was served to us with whipped cream, strawberry and 30 ml white rum. Yesterday I tried to recreate this dessert with whatever I had in my pantry. Ya presentation of my dessert sucks but trust me it tastes exactly the same or shall I say better 😜. A bit lengthy process though.  So here we go... Ingredients: For baba: 1. Butter:                                                                                           9 tablespoons 2. All-purpose flour:                                                                       2 cups 3. Sugar:

About Me

Hi and very warm welcome to all of you. I am Meenal and this is my attempt to share recipes which I learned from different sources. Few from my mom, some of them are from my mom-in-law, few from internet as well. Cooking is my stress buster. For me cooking is like meditation 😊😊. I believe anybody can cook delicious meals, just you should be willing to do it with your heart.

I am mother of 10 years old. My way of cooking and eating has completely changed after I became mother. The sense of responsibility made me to research and practice more healthy way of living. This resulted into trying and doing different exercise formats like Yoga, HIT cardio, strength training and plain jogging as well. I am also learning Kathak ( Indian classical dance form) for some years now. I am equally passionate about this dance form.

I am born and bought in Pune city, Western part of Marashtra state of India. As a child I always lingered in the kitchen when my mum used to cook. I still remember particularly  during Diwali times, while she would cook all the Diwali fare and I kept her watching and observing by standing on the chair. :))). During summer vacations when we ( my elder sister and me) would visit our aunts' and uncles' places, I remember spending rather most of the time in the kitchen observing my aunts cooking different recipes than playing with my cousins. Cooking has always fascinated me. 😍😍

I have always felt that food has more powers than just satisfying hunger. I truly believe you become what you eat. Cooking and feeding is medium of spreading love and affection. It is also great stress buster. My real culinary journey started after I got married and shifted to Nagpur city of Maharashtra which is also center point of India. There is huge difference between my new home and native place as far as food is concern. But I have learned this region's cuisine as well and I enjoy every bit of it.

Finally I would like to thank you for stopping by and appreciating my efforts. I have all ears for your suggestions, feedback, recipes and even some chat over food. You can mail me on culinary.artist.md@gmail.com.

Cheers 👍👍... Keep cooking and smiling always 😘😘😘
