Dadpe Pohe or Flattened Rice Flakes In A different Way !!!!

Dadpe Pohe (Maharashtrian delicacy of Poha - flattened rice flakes) for evening
time small hunger. Since everyone is at home, situation at home front has
changed. It’s no more like make tiffin in the morning and then cook directly in
the evening. Now after every few hours kids are getting hanggery... (Hungry +Angry).
Moms are busy thinking hard what to feed which is not time consuming and also
healthy. Kids are bored with normal poha, upma. So, while thinking about this, I remembered in my
growing years, my sister and me would make this variety of poha as evening
snacks.
So,
to start with:
Ingredients:
1.
Flattened rice flakes – Poha: 6 cups (thick verity)
2.
Onions: 3 medium sized
3.
Fresh coconut: 2 cups (grated)
4.
Green chilies: 5
5.
Fresh coriander: 1 cup (chopped)
6.
Lemon juice: 1
7.
Sugar: 3 teaspoons
8.Turmeric
powder: 1 teaspoon
9.
Salt: As per taste
10.
Peanuts: ½ cup
11.
Water: To sprinkle
12.
Curry leaves: Few
13.
Mustard seeds: ½ teaspoon
14.
Oil: 4 tablespoons
15.
Asafoetida: A pinch or two
Method:
1.
Sprinkle water on thick poha to make them wet. Remember don't wash them otherwise
poha will become soggy.
2. In a bowl, add finely chopped onions, wet poha, grated fresh coconut,
chopped coriander, salt, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well.
3. Fry peanut in little oil and add to the poha.
4. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds.
5. Add pinch of asafoetida.
6. Add curry leaves and green chilies. Sauté.
7. Add turmeric powder. Mix well.
8. Add this tempering to poha. Mix well.
9. Now keep covered for 10-15 mins and then serve.
