Rum Baba Or Baba Au Rum

Rum Baba Rum Baba – Let’s Dig Into This French Delight !!! In the month of January, while vacationing in Goa, had this amazing dessert called "Rum Baba" at a French restaurant. You may think it's same as Rum Balls. No there is no similarities in both desserts apart from one ingredient that is rum. Rum Baba or Baba Au Rum (French name) is a yeast cake soaked in syrup made with hard liquor, usually rum. It was served to us with whipped cream, strawberry and 30 ml white rum. Yesterday I tried to recreate this dessert with whatever I had in my pantry. Ya presentation of my dessert sucks but trust me it tastes exactly the same or shall I say better 😜. A bit lengthy process though.  So here we go... Ingredients: For baba: 1. Butter:                                                                                           9 tablespoons 2. All-purpose flour:                                                                       2 cups 3. Sugar:

How to make raw jackfruit curry????

Yesterday was not routine day for me to buy weekly veggies. Generally I do it on weekends. Since I was traveling this weekend, I couldn't do it on Saturday or Sunday. So while buying all the stuff, I saw this tiny, little, lovely baby jackfruit. Very rarely we get it in Nagpur. Immediately I bought it and made curry preparation out of it for today's lunch. It is almost like meat for pure vegetarian people.

Ingredients:

1. Raw jackfruit
2. Oil
3. Mustard seeds
4. Onion - garlic - chilli paste.
5. Grated fresh coconut and cashew paste
6. Turmeric powder
7. Red chilli powder
8. Garam masala powder
9. Kitchen king masala
10. Dried fenugreek leaves
11. Water
12. Salt
13. Fresh coriander leaves

Method:

1. Remove skin of jackfruit and cut into medium-sized pieces. While cutting jackfruit you need to apply oil to your hands and to the knife as well. Now pressure cook these pieces. Just one whistle is enough.
2. In a heated pan add oil, mustard seeds and onion - garlic - chilli paste. (Grind together onions, chilli and garlic without adding water). Sauté till oil gets separated.
3. Add grated fresh coconut and cashew paste. You can use water to make the paste. Sauté.
4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, kitchen king masala, dried fenugreek leaves, salt and cooked jackfruit. Again sauté.
5. Add water. Boil curry on high flame. Now reduce flame and cook covered for 10- 15 minutes. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

I bet even if you are a hardcore meat eater, after eating this curry you will start relishing vegetarian food...
