Rum Baba Or Baba Au Rum

Rum Baba Rum Baba – Let’s Dig Into This French Delight !!! In the month of January, while vacationing in Goa, had this amazing dessert called "Rum Baba" at a French restaurant. You may think it's same as Rum Balls. No there is no similarities in both desserts apart from one ingredient that is rum. Rum Baba or Baba Au Rum (French name) is a yeast cake soaked in syrup made with hard liquor, usually rum. It was served to us with whipped cream, strawberry and 30 ml white rum. Yesterday I tried to recreate this dessert with whatever I had in my pantry. Ya presentation of my dessert sucks but trust me it tastes exactly the same or shall I say better 😜. A bit lengthy process though.  So here we go... Ingredients: For baba: 1. Butter:                                                                                           9 tablespoons 2. All-purpose flour:                                                                       2 cups 3. Sugar:

My style spicy and hot Egg Curry

I always keep eggs in my pantry. Such a versatile ingredient!!!! There are hundreds of ways you can have it. Last night my 10 year old son wanted to have something spicy but not vegetarian. There was not much of time to get fish or meat from the market and have it for dinner. So made this quick egg curry. Spicy n hot 🔥🔥

Ingredients:

1. Boiled eggs
2. Oil
3. Chopped onions
4. Grated dry coconut
5. Dried red chillies
6. Garlic pods
7. Poppy seeds
8. Sesame seeds
9. Cinnamon
10. Clove
11. Black pepper
12. Black cardamom
13. Green cardamom
14. Coriander seeds
15. Cumin seeds
16. Mace
17. Bay leaves
18. Turmeric powder
19. Red chilli powder
20. Any meat masala powder
21. Salt
22. Water

Method:

1. Boil eggs, remove shell and shallow fry. Keep aside.
2. In a heated pan add little oil, medium chopped onion. Sauté till soft.
3. Add grated dry coconut, dried red chillies, garlic pods, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and whole spices (cinnamon, clove, black pepper, black cardamom, green cardamom, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and mace). Sauté till aromatic. Make fine paste of this mixture. If needed add little water.
4. Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaves and the masla paste. Sauté till oil gets separated.
5. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and any meat masala powder. Sauté.
6. Add required water and salt. Boil on high flame. Add boiled eggs. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
With roti or rice it tastes like heaven.

You can use same masala paste to make chicken or mutton.
The same curry will taste slightly different, if you use fresh coconut instead of dry one.
Try this super simple curry this weekend 😋😋. Happy weekend.
