Rum Baba Or Baba Au Rum

Rum Baba Rum Baba – Let’s Dig Into This French Delight !!! In the month of January, while vacationing in Goa, had this amazing dessert called "Rum Baba" at a French restaurant. You may think it's same as Rum Balls. No there is no similarities in both desserts apart from one ingredient that is rum. Rum Baba or Baba Au Rum (French name) is a yeast cake soaked in syrup made with hard liquor, usually rum. It was served to us with whipped cream, strawberry and 30 ml white rum. Yesterday I tried to recreate this dessert with whatever I had in my pantry. Ya presentation of my dessert sucks but trust me it tastes exactly the same or shall I say better 😜. A bit lengthy process though.  So here we go... Ingredients: For baba: 1. Butter:                                                                                           9 tablespoons 2. All-purpose flour:                                                                       2 cups 3. Sugar:

How to beat the heat with cool cucumber paratha or kheera paratha

Summer here is really exhausting. You need to keep body hydrated and maintain body's temperature. But the beauty is, the Mother Nature provide us with ample resources to beat the heat. Fruits and veggies available specifically in summer are high in water content, help us stay hydrated and give us much needed energy. One such food is cucumber. It not only contents high water level but is equally rich in vitamins and minerals to cope up with rising temperature. So here is simple kheera or cucumber paratha. Variety of cucumber here I have used is different one than we generally use for salad. It has more water content than normal one.

Ingredients:

1. Whole wheat flour
2. Peeled and grated cucumber
3. Red chili powder
4. Turmeric powder
5. Roasted sesame seeds
6. Finely chopped fresh coriander
7. Salt
8. Little oil

Method:

1. In a bowl, add peeled and grated cucumber, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, roasted sesame seeds, finely chopped fresh coriander, salt and little oil.
2. Key over here is to add whole wheat flour. You need to add as much of flour as cucumber can absorb.

3. Mix all ingredients well and make soft dough. DON'T ADD WATER OR CURD.
4. Roll into small flat parthas or roties. Cook them from both sides on tava by applying little oil.

Serve with yogurt, chutney, pickle or any dip of your choice.

So let's beat 👊💥 this summer 🌞🌴🏄🎇 in a healthy way!!!!
